It’s the only one I’ve got so I’m treating it with great care. I’ve rolled into the weekend before Christmas in style. I’m already enjoying having everything wrapped up and cruising through the weekend and next week without too much fuss.

This morning we had a well deserved Saturday morning where we didn’t have to get up to do anything or go anywhere. We stayed in bed until 10 and that was glorious. We had breakfast in the couch watching an episode of “The Crown” and then talked and tried to fly a mini-drone around the living room (quite unsuccessfully). Then we played a game of pool, which I also suck at. Now we’re in the basement on the exercise eq.

I haven’t written much this week – too much running around, working and shopping and meeting some self imposed social obligations. I went to a writing workshop which was followed by a reading at a pub downtown. I thought it was a poetry reading and it wasn’t. It was fiction, which I find even more entertaining. If I could just get someone to read me stories every night, that would be grand. Thank you very much.

They read and then they have their books for sale that you can buy and they will sign them. Sometimes I buy and sometimes I don’t. This time I didn’t cuz I never read the book I bought at the last reading. Yet. I can’t wait to have more time to read.

I’ve had brief flashes of inspiration this week and no time to stop and take advantage of it. I’m brewing a post about my new name. That’s a spoiler alert. I had a reason to google it this week and wasn’t too thrilled about what I found, but I’ll save the details for that post. Right now I’m really feeling like wrapping things up and getting back to being a couch potato. I need to get more steps, but I’m not going to worry about that this weekend – I’m just going to enjoy having nothing to do. It’s a skill, to do nothing and enjoy it. I guess I could read that book, but it’s not here (at this house), and that’s ok too. It gives me an excuse to be, what my son would say, “a giant potato sack”.
