2019-05-05 Long Lost Sunday Status

We hosted shenanigans for 10 teenagers over night last night and I didn’t get to sleep until late. Of course I still woke up at 5, and then again at 6 and 7. At 7am I gave up and got up. The house is quiet now and I’m all alone with the treadmill in the basement (except for my kitten, who follows me everywhere).

Life has been going by so fast lately that I’ve barely stopped to check in on myself. Today feels like the perfect morning for that. Since It’s been about a month since the last one and I believe That was a “monthly” update, I’m going to stick with that… These stats are from the month of April.

Steps.. 11,207 average for the month. That’s a move in the right direction from the average of about 10k for the past 3 months and total for the year thus far. I set my goal at 12k and I feel like I should be able to get there with the inevitable extra steps that come with all the gardening and yard work I’m planning on doing this summer. I’m also planning on mixing in some Jazzercise classes, but I’ve been saying that for a couple months now and it hasn’t happened.

Sleep.. Miraculously I got an average of 7 hours and 57 minutes per night. I totally crushed my goal in April (7 hrs. 15 min.). I’m quite shocked by this actually because I still had the same issues with exhaustion and brain fog at the end of most days. I’ve still not solved that puzzle. With this month’s stats it actually brings my 3 month and average for the year up to my goal. That means it’s time to celebrate, or nap.. you know, whatever. 😜

Healthy Eating.. There are no stats attached to this category. I know I have failed though. I don’t need a calorie calculator to tell me I’m still not making great choices, the scale tells a pretty good story. I’ve gained more weight this month and struggled to find professional clothes that fit to make appearances on-site for work this week (which I had to do two days). I’ve been spoiled by this “work from home” gig and now I do t know if I can ever go back to a traditional office environment again. I’m not alone though, when meeting for happy hour with several of my co-workers this week they said the same thing. It’s easy to get used to for sure!

Speaking of work.. Aside from the week I was away in Spain, I’ve been averaging about 25 hours per week. This exceeds my quota by like 5 hours and makes my boss extremely happy. I technically only have two weeks left on the contract but the project doesn’t end until December. My boss was also in town this week and we talked about it. I’m still going to be involved and logging a few hours a week here and there where they need it. It feels like the right thing to do. Of course I’ll be starting back to school in July and I’m taking at least one on-campus class and that will be my priority (you know, among other summer road trips and visits to friends and family across the country, and vacations). 😊

My Relationship status is still engaged. We picked a date for the wedding but have done no planning beyond that. It kinda freaks me out actually, but, as I have said, that’s another blog post altogether. What does it say that I’m not only procrastinating my wedding planning, but also resistant to writing or talking about it. Yeah, I’m sure there’s some deep-seeded reason for all that, I’m just smiling and nodding and ignoring it for now. I mean, things are so great now. We’re making plans and scheming about the future, just not “THAT”. Ha!

I think that’s it for this edition of the Sunday Status. Time now to start waking up the crew. We are taking all the kids to Laser-tag at 10AM. That will be the perfect end to the first of (hopefully) many summer hang-outs for the kids. Life is good.

Cheers,
