If I had a therapist she might say I shouldn’t pose an existential question with five minutes left in our session.
Yeah. Probably not.
But since I have endless time and space here, with my alternative therapeutic method, I can continue to contemplate questions like “what next?” and “what’s my purpose.. here, on Earth?” as long as I damn want to.
Statistics I’ve collected indicate that people aren’t interested in writing about writing from a personal perspective when that person is not already famous.
So I’m changing my name to Taylor Swift.
And then I will continue to waste time, chasing cars, around my head, right here, with you.
That’s a Snow Patrol reference, by the way, and I would change my name to Gary Lightbody but that’s just not as recognizable as my friend T and also cuz… Gary.
“Taylor” has a much better ring to it, don’t you think? And would fit better with my personal flair.
And by flair I mean hair.
But I digress.
My point is that I’ve been writing a lot lately about my journey as a writer and my mental health.
I’m constantly running little experiments and collecting data. I’m overanalyzing the results. And forever waxing and waning like the moon.
She’s just such a precious gem
An opal made of cheese
And I don’t care
who might look into the sky
and think a little differently
All of this is just to say, Hi. I’m glad you’re here. Thank you for wasting time with me.
More soon…
Peace and Love,
~Miss SugarCookie
PS. This post was brought to you (in part) by Snow Patrol and their song “Chasing Cars” …
We’ll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don’t need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don’t quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They’re not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life
Let’s waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see
I don’t know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
